Forgotten, then found in a barn years later...
Nikon F Photomic / Nikon FE / 35mm f/2 / Micro Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 / 105mm f/2.5.
The damage caused by time and humidity rendered this equipment unusable.
The smell of mould was unbearable. The first operation was to ‘air it out’ for a few days.
The Nikon FE and Nikon F photomic were so deteriorated that they could only be used as spare parts. The F still triggered, but the internal oxidation was too severe.
We had to try and save the optics, which was yet another challenge!
Dismantling the mechanics, cleaning, disinfecting and greasing the ramps.
The lenses were dismantled, disinfected and treated for fungus.
Reassembled, the lens is ready for use again.
